- Cases involving soft tissue or wrenching-type injury and disc lesion of the more severe type. Injuries which may have accelerated and/or exacerbated a pre-existing condition over a prolonged period of time, usually by five years or more – claim up to £21,900
- Injuries such as fractures or dislocations which cause severe immediate symptoms, and which may necessitate spinal fusion, including chronic conditions; claims can be up to £33,700
The final bracket covers severe neck injury claims as follows:
- Injuries causing fractures or dislocations or severe damage to soft tissues and/or ruptured tendons that lead to chronic conditions and significant disability of a permanent nature – claim up to £49,000
- Injuries which give rise to disabilities which are of considerable severity; for example, permanent damage to the brachial plexus or substantial loss of movement in the neck and loss of function in one or more limbs – claim estimates up to £114,800
- Neck injuries associated with incomplete paraplegia or resulting in permanent spastic quadriparesis, or where the injured person has little or no movement in the neck and suffers severe headaches which have proved intractable – valuations up to £130,060
