How much could you claim for a motorcycle knee injury?

If you’ve suffered a motorcycle knee injury and you want to know more about how much compensation you could be entitled to, we can help.

We can give you some guidance based on the official guidelines that are used to value claims for compensation. The proper way to value a claim is for you to be seen by a privately-instructed medical expert. That’s something we organise for you as part of your claim. We then use our experience together with the report and the guidelines to work out how much you should receive.

As such, the advice in this blog is for guidance only. Always speak to us directly, but in the meantime, it can be helpful.

Guidelines for how much a motorcycle knee injury can be worth

According to the official guidelines we use for valuing a motorcycle knee injury compensation claim, you could be looking at:

  • Up to £5,000.00 where a complete recovery is made;
  • Up to £22,000.00 for injuries including dislocation and torn cartilage that leave you with some instability and weaknesses, or mild future disability;
  • Up to £61,000.00 for fractures that extend to the knee joint and cause permanent problems that limit movement and/or impair your ability to use the knee, and can lead to later risks of further problems and surgery being required;
  • Up to £84,000.00 for serious knee injuries where there’s been severe disruption of the joint, such as multi-ligament damage, requiring lengthy treatment and leaving you with permanent problems and future difficulties.

These guidelines are for the injury alone. You can also claim for any associated losses and expense which can amount to more than the claim for the injury itself. If you lost six months of earnings, you should be able to claim those lost earnings back on top of the above.
