Back Pain motorcycle back injury case

Making a claim for personal injury compensation for motorbike back injuries is often a given in most accidents where a rider is injured.

Coming off your bike in a collision is likely going to lead to some element of a back injury. In some cases, back injurers can be incredibly severe, and can leave the victim with lifelong problems.

With a combination of our specialist expertise and high-quality medical evidence, we can make sure that you receive the best possible compensation pay-out for a back injury. Here’s a little advice about what to expect in this kind of case when it comes to the amounts you can claim for.

How we value motorbike back injuries

We value motorbike back injuries using expert medical evidence, our experience, previously settled case information (known as case law), and official guidelines.

Without the above, it isn’t really possible for us to accurately value your claim for personal injury compensation. What we can do is provide you with an insight into the official guidelines that we use, which can give you a very rough idea about what to expect.

This is for guidance only! To properly value a claim, instruct our expert legal team and let us obtain the proper evidence required.

Minor back injury compensation claims

Minor motorbike back injuries can lead to pay-outs in these kinds of ranges:

  • Full recovery within three months: up to £2,150.00.
  • Full recovery within two years: up to £7,000.00.
  • Full recovery within five years: up to £11,000.00.

This is based on the official guidelines we use to value claims. For straightforward and uncomplicated back injury cases, that’s what you may be able to expect.

Severe motorbike back injuries

Valuing severe motorbike back injuries can be a lot harder as more severe cases often depend on the extent and the severity of the suffering and need for future treatment.

Back injuries can often be complicated, and where people fit on the scale for compensation isn’t easy to estimate without expert medical evidence. For the injuries below, you’d be dealing with our Serious Injury Claims Team.

Some of the guidelines – for a very general and rough idea for you – say as follows:

  • Ligaments and muscular injuries, prolonged acceleration of pre-existing problems, and prolapsed discs where the problems last longer than five years: up to £24,000.00.
  • Compression and crush injuries, traumatic spondylolisthesis, requirement for spinal fusion, prolapsed intervertebral disc requiring surgery, or intervertebral disc damage with nerve root irritation and reduced mobility: up to £34,000.00.
  • Disc lesions, disc fractures, chronic conditions despite treatment, continuing severe pain and disability: up to £60,000.00. Where there’s added organ problems and further reductions in bodily functions, the bracket can stretch to up to £77,500.00.
  • The most severe injuries involving spinal cord damage, nerve root damage, severe pain and disability, incomplete paralysis and organ damage: up to £140,000.00.

It’s important to know that these are the guidelines for the injury alone. You can also claim Special Damages for losses and expenses and it’s that part of the case that can attract the higher awards. If you can’t work for the rest of your life, you may need to be paid hundreds of thousands of pounds in lost earnings, which is in addition to the injury pay-out brackets above.
