57,000 Harley-Davidson Motorcycles recalled for oil-associated defect!

Award-winning biker brand Harley-Davidson are recalling 57,000 motorbikes worldwide as a result of an oil line defect!

From what we know, 57,000 motorbikes are having a recall as there’s a danger of an oil line becoming loose which could spew oil into the path of the rear tire. This could cause accidents for obvious reasons, so we want all bikers to be wary of this issue and check with Harley if they need to and make sure all bikes are safe to ride.

2016-2017 Ducati Multistrada Enduro motorcycles recalled over rear shock defect

Regulators have announced a recall of over 568 Ducati motorcycles.

The recall is limited specifically to the 2016-2017 Multistrada 1200 Enduro motorcycles.

Ducati has issued the following statement:

“Intense off-road use of the Multistrada 1200 Enduro could lead to breakage of the lower eyelet. To prevent possible breakage, the lower eyelet of the rear shock absorber was redesigned to make it more robust. The new part number of the rear shock absorber with modified eyelet is 36521464A.”

London Armed Police will use Motorbikes to respond to Terror Attacks

The Met Police have turned to two wheels in order to respond quicker to any terror attacks that might take place in the City of London.

The Met’s armed counter-terrorism police department were displaying their fleet of grey BMW F800GS motorbikes which will help them cut through the heavy and sometimes gridlocked traffic of London to get to the scene of any terror attack.

Scooter and Motorcycle theft on the rise in the UK

A report released by Police Recorded Crime statistics for England and Wales indicates a rising growth in the theft of Scooters and Motorcycles (estimated 22,500 bikes stolen last year in the UK). This is mirrored by a recent Home Office report which underlines a 44% increase in motorbike theft in London alone.

With advanced technology in vehicle security on newer models of cars and vans it means they are way more difficult to be stolen than their two-wheeled cousins, so it’s no wonder that scooters and motorcycles are suddenly at the top of a thief’s shopping list.

TfL publish Urban Motorcycle Design Handbook

Hydro Motorbike Stunt Goes Wrong – “Audience Members” Hurt

A motorbike show went horribly wrong in Glasgow when “three members of the audience” were badly injured in a stunt performed by the Nitro Circus team.

Thousands had packed into the Hydro Arena on Thursday the 5th of February to watch the spectacle and as part of one stunt, “three members of the audience” were picked to take part in a stunt which would see all three plus a rider perform a back flip at the top of a large ramp.

Over 68K Suzuki motorcycles recalled because of stalling risk

Over 68,000 motorbikes are being recalled in the United States by bike manufacturing giant Suzuki due to a failing battery charging system which causes the bikes to stall.

The Suzuki recall will affect models produced between 2008 and 2012.

US safety regulators have documented that the problem has been traced to a circuit board in the bike’s charging system. Suzuki will notify owners by early March whose bikes are affected to contact their nearest dealer and have the charging system regulator-rectifier replaced at no cost to the owner.
